Wildfire breaks out near Devil’s Tower National Monument; evacuation in order 20%

UPDATE, 10:02 p.m.: Crook County Emergency Management recently updated residents on the Left Creek Fire.
According to a social media post from CCEM, there is still “no word” on containment.
The fire has grown to 250 acres.
“However, progress has been made,” CCEM wrote.
The post states that 150 firefighters are currently working the fire, along with four Large Air Tankers, 2 SEATS and four helicopters.
Additionally, miscellaneous private resources have come in to assist with the fire.
“Firefighters will stay on the fire tonight and into tomorrow,” the post states.
“Devil’s Tower National Monument remains closed to the public at least until tomorrow.

Crook County Emergency Management is reporting that there is currently no word on containment.
HULETT, Wyo. — A wildfire has broken out by Devil’s Tower National Monument, near Hulett.
The fire, dubbed the “Left Creek Fire,” is currently sitting at 20 acres, according to a social media post from Crook County Emergency Management.
Devil’s Tower has been closed due to the fire, and all staff and visitors are being evacuated from the area surrounding the monument.
