President Trump heading to Beijing tonight ahead of an historic summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Iran will be high on the agenda.
>> Meanwhile, sources tell Fox the UAE, can you believe this, has been secretly carrying out attacks on Iran in response to strikes on its energy infrastructure.
Good for them. Excellent.
Chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst is live in Tel Aviv with the very latest. Trey, what do you know?
Yeah, hey guys, good morning. The Middle East is bracing for the possibility that the region returns to war in the days ahead.
Iran's parliament speaker Mohammad Qalibaf posted to X overnight saying, "Our armed forces are ready to deliver a well-deserved response to any aggression.
Mistaken strategy and mistaken decisions will always lead to mistaken results. The whole world has already figured this out. We are prepared for all options. They will be surprised.
The threatening language comes after President Trump rejected the Iranian response to the US peace proposal calling it a piece of garbage as he indicated the ceasefire is on life support.
It's unbelievably weak. How do you say? I would call it the weakest right now. after reading that piece of garbage they sent us. I didn't even finish reading it. I said, "I'm not going to waste my time reading it." I would say it's one time reading it." I would say it's one of the weakest right now. It's on life support.
>> Do you believe a diplomatic solution is possible with Iran or do you only have military options?
>> No, I I think it's very possible.
President Trump also indicated that Iran made commitments about the buried uranium and then didn't include those commitments in their response. Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson said this on Monday.
Therefore, everything we proposed in our text consisted of reasonable demands, responsible proposals, and generous suggestions. Not only for Iran's national interests, but also for the good, stability, and security of the entire region and the world.
We're also tracking reporting from Fox's Bret Baier that indicates the UAE took part in the war striking Iran's Lavan Island around the time the ceasefire went into effect last month.
Here in Israel more cargo planes and refuelers are landing each day as the country prepares for the possibility that combat operations resume.
Hey Trey, have you heard have you heard credible reports of China rearming um through the Caspian Sea Iran?
I did see those reports. I can't independently confirm them, but it's a major topic of conversation for President Trump when he heads to Beijing this week.
The Americans and the Israelis are looking to put pressure on the Iranian regime and any sort of external help would reduce that pressure.
We do know according to regional sources that I talked to this morning the domestic pressure on the regime is increasing each and every day and they view this broadly as something called death by a thousand cuts.
They believe that President Trump has a variety of options on the table moving forward that could damage the Iranian regime further on a military level that would make it even more difficult for those in Tehran to rebuild after the war.
>> [snorts]
>> You know Trey, um we all know that the policy of Iran is to give some type of domestic pressure here when it comes to the gas prices that the president may shift. And initially there were some rhetoric coming out of the White House that the president was trying to wrap this up quickly.
quickly. It looks like the president is at full pause. He's not rushing anything right now.
And I'm just curious, are you hearing something on the ground? Is this shifting the Iranians uh a little bit seeing that the president is just like at a standstill right now. He's not going to rush to make any decision.
It's a great question. One regional source that I talked to this morning indicated the Iranians still believe that the United States needs a deal more than they do and that simply isn't the case.
The president has been incredibly patient throughout this entire process, giving the Iranians an olive branch, an off-ramp in this conflict to make a good faith deal, give up their highly enriched uranium, and ensure that they'll never have a nuclear weapon. So far, they've not taken these negotiations very seriously, and they're continuing attacks against Gulf countries and threatening US forces across the region, as we heard from Qalibaf, the parliament speaker inside of Iran.
And so, again, President Trump has a variety of options on the table if he does decide to resume military strikes against the country of Iran.
But again, the question here is about domestic pressure.
And when we see what Iran is facing, just given the naval blockade of Iranian ports that remains in place, that alone is putting so much domestic pressure on the Iranian regime
that I'm told there are new fractures within the leadership structure of Iran.
Those who are pushing the regime to get any sort of deal possible, while you have some of these hardliners within the IRGC who are preparing for the possibility that the war resumes.
right, Trey. Thank you so much.
