Damaging winds hit Illinois as tornado threats grow in region #shorts 70%

You see the damage being done there.
Obviously, a lot of people going in there, engineers and the like, uh, to try to figure out exactly if it's safe or when it will be safe.
But here's some of the roof debris.

And then that sheet there is is the uh fabric that's pulled to protect the roof from the rain.
So, it's not your typical plywood and tar situation.

Structurally sound for the most part.
So, I think they'll be able to get the people back in here relatively soon.
maybe maybe a couple of weeks.
Uh hopefully they'll be back in their homes.
Nobody hurt.
That's the good news.
But we had nearly 300 damaging storm reports yesterday just from the wind across nine states.
There were 15 tornadoes.
And today, Thursday, looks to be even worse.
The Storms Prediction Center has upgraded the risk for severe weather to a level four out of five.
They don't do that often.
That implies the threat for not just more damaging winds like this, but long track destructive tornadoes.
uh eastern Iowa, northern Illinois, southern parts of Wisconsin.
Pretty much areas that got hit yesterday are slated to be hit again today potentially with worse weather in the form of tornadoes.
This all presses to the east.
I95 is under the gun as well today and tomorrow when all the main cold front comes through and pushes all the heat and humidity that so much of the country is feeling right now.
That is fuel for these storms.
