Australian DJ and musician Timmy Trumpet on embracing music in America 41%

He now joins forces with John Martin and Frank Walker on the new single all my life to capture the feeling of love at its peak.

in the studio. Timmy Trumpet joins us now live in studio. Thank you so much for being here.
>> Oh, thank you for having us.
>> Absolutely. So tell us about this collaboration with John Martin and Frank Walker.
John Martin is behind that really popular song.
"Don't you worry, don't you worry child."
How did that come together? That collab and this new song of yours?
>> one of the most iconic voices in dance music and I just reached out to him just sent him a DM. I was surprised to just get a response let alone him saying yes to singing on the record.
And we just singing on the record. We debuted in Paris and it was just insane, you know, there with one of my idols singing the song that we wrote with Frank Walker on stage.
It was it was magical.
>> Your last single called not a place was really about losing love and now this song is about love at its peak.
What made you go in this opposite direction?
>> Yeah, I've just come out of a long term relationship and I'm sure everyone's experienced heartache at some point in their lives and it was, you know, a a difficult track to write, you know, there was a a where I was in the studio and I had to leave the studio cuz I was a mess.
>> Aw.
>> You know, but um the the follow-up record All My Life is a different a different part of that journey. It's it's about living in the moment, you know, and and taking myself back to to the happiest point of of of the relationship and of life.
>> People all over the world have connected with you and with your music, including a pitcher in LA with the LA Dodgers, Edwin Diaz.
Apparently, he walks out to your song each and every time, your song Narco.
How does that feel to to know that, you know, you've got this person that walks out and he just is that connected to your song, to your music?
>> Well, firstly, I just want to say that I am a New York Mets fan.
I love New York.
My heart will always be with the Mets.
Um they were the ones
>> Disclaimer, okay.
>> [laughter]
>> They were the ones that introduced me to the sport of baseball.
So, before that, I had never been to a baseball game or knew anything about it.
Um but I will follow Diaz to to wherever he goes
because without him, I wouldn't have had any streams on Narco.
You know, he's been the sole reason that that record's hit off and, you know, that experience at City Field changed my life.
>> What a moment.
>> Yeah.
>> You [clears throat] were classically trained uh growing up in Australia.
You studied the trumpet right at the Conservatory of of Music in Sydney.
What made you take this path and and kind of deviate a little bit from classical traditional music?
>> Yeah, I reckon like I I was playing trumpet to sort of, you know, I was playing a lot of jazz bands and, you know, Sydney Symphony Orchestra and that whatnot and
I think when I turned 18, 21, I sort of went to a club and I was like, I think I want to do this and it just sort of naturally evolved that I started jamming alongside first the radio and electronic music like Daft Punk and then next minute I'm DJing or playing alongside DJs and it's just sort of launched from
>> You're about to go on a world tour.
>> Yeah.
>> So what can fans expect?
>> Well man, expect a lot of new music.
I have spent the last 6 months in the studio working piece by piece on what I'm feeling and you know, music's been like my therapy through this this heart heartache that I've been suffering and you know, I I think the music's still very uplifting, emotional, powerful.
It's going to connect with everyone cuz everyone's experienced heartbreak at some point in their lives, at least most people.
So I think it's going to be different this year. I'm excited.
>> Yeah, and you deliver each and every time.
