Legendary golfer Tiger Woods is facing an uncertain future both on and off the course after he was arrested for a DUI following a rollover crash in Florida on Friday.
He now faces three misdemeanors, including driving under the influence, property damage, and refusal to submit to a test.
Officers say that Woods showed quote signs of impairment, but he blew triple zeros for alcohol, which leads investigators to believe that he was under the influence of quote some type of medication or drug.
Now, this is Wood's second arrest in the last nine years and his fourth car crash dating back to 2009.
You're looking at those incidents here.
Now, Woods was also charged with a DUI in 2017 and suffered a near fatal crash in LA in 2021.
You know, this is really sad, Emily.
It was apparently a 30 m per hour zone and he clipped the back of of a truck.
>> Yeah.
Estimated at perhaps going 65 miles an hour.
The common denominator of these crashes and um vehicle incidents that Tiger's been involved in is is excessive speeding in addition to the impairment and allegations of impairment in this particular case.
So, um apparently he is extremely private and that is why he does not want someone driving him so that they don't know his whereabouts and and those kinds of things.
But it seems to me that that vector has long become stale and there are many people within the golf and proathlete industries that are essentially calling on there to be accountability and for him to retire and that you know when you look at things through the lens of 2026.
I think frankly we've seen someone that um is in a very unfortunate situation that we all pray for recovery and and all of those things but h has been allowed to get away with many things that the average American and perhaps another athlete would not including by the way many of those statements by people like Johnny Manzel who are like I I didn't get away with one that's the whole point there was accountability in my case um calling for accountability here but um at the end of the day all I can say is thank God that no one was injured including But to that end about just taking the private car, I mean, I read the report from people that he's a private person, but Harris, after so many incidents, you'd think that'd be top of mind.
>> Oh, please.
People sign NDAs.
You can pay somebody.
It's not like he couldn't triple somebody's salary to say, "Keep your mouth shut and drive me to the 7-Eleven."
I mean, give me a break.
I don't think I even believe that.
But let's just say it's true.
It's ignorant.
like you you have people around you that can do the driving no matter how you have to renumerate them or whatever you have to do, but protect the other people on the road if you aren't going to drive with all your senses about you.
By the way, a zero on the alcohol test is what I've read.
Uh didn't want to take another test that would what what was more, you know, toxicology, if you will, in terms of telling us what was in his bloodstream.
Look, we don't know what was going on with him, but clearly if this is what keeps happening in your life, something is wrong.
And I just hope he gets help.
>> Maria, I mean, my phone lit up with the headline and I thought, I mean, am I in a time machine?
Like, it just felt like you went back in history.
>> I mean, this is arguably the greatest golf golfer of all time, right?
I mean, an incredible athlete.
Next week is the Masters.
There's still questions about whether he's actually going to try and play next week in the Masters, which is insane to think about.
But with all of that fame and success, clearly also are a lot of demons.
I mean, we've, as you said, I feel like I'm in a time machine.
We've watched him for years destroy his marriage.
Now he's, you know, reconciled has is, you know, with the kids.
His son is an amazing golfer, but clearly this is a pattern and he hasn't reconciled some demons.
I don't know what's going on, but I think he does not need to play in the Masters next week and needs help.
Maybe needs to retire.
I mean, he's been an incredible inspiration, especially for so many golfers of color, people.
He's brought people into the game who never felt welcome in golf.
This is not what you want to see from him right now.
>> Jeremy, it was supposed to be a comeback.
>> Yeah.
You know, it's so unfortunate, especially as like, you know, as a young kid growing up, you know, you love watching Tiger play.
He's such an inspiration, as you mentioned, and it's tough.
You know, a lot of these kind of celebrity stories, you kind of roll your eyes like whatever.
But with Tiger, it does feel different because he is such an inspiration to so many people.
And I think that's why it's so hard to watch this kind of pattern develop in his life.
And so, you know, look, I'm one of one of those people that I'm rooting for him in his personal life.
I'm rooting for him on the course.
I I hope that he gets this gets his back together especially because you know his son is now playing and you can see that it's just so beautiful to watch a father and son play the sport together.
I think that he could continue to be an inspiration but he's got to get some of this personal stuff cleaned up.
It's not a good look and I'm I'm really saddened for him.
>> Yes, we will pray for him, his family, and his recovery.
