In tonight's last call, they are starting to clear out the streets of Madrid tonight after celebrating Spain's second World Cup title in team history.
Yesterday's final between La Roa and Argentina is expected to be the most expensive sporting events of all time.
Resale tickets had a starting price of $8900.
But two lucky fans from New Jersey, they won a VIP experience package through a Verizon loyalty program, including pitch side tickets to the final.
Jeremy Soop and Mary Kenny are huge soccer fans.
You're you're taking a look at some of their photos there.
They both grew up playing soccer and now they coach their kids wreck teams in Milbour, New Jersey.
And they are joining me now to talk about their incredible day and their experience.
They're still wearing their team kits that we saw them wearing there at the final.
Hi guys, welcome to the show.
How are you feeling?
>> Still trying to process it, honestly.
>> I bet. Jeremy, tell me how this all happened.
>> Sorry. Go ahead, Mary.
>> No, it's it's been incredible. It's been just an incredible experience.
But let
Jeremy Yeah, please.
>> Yeah. How did you win these tickets?
I I was on the Verizon um app, my Verizon app, and um I think I was trying to set like time limits for, you know, the internet or something like that.
>> for our kids, >> for our kids. And uh all of a sudden, I saw the Verizon Shine um kind of pop up and said like opt in to Verizon Shine.
And I said, "I don't know if I want to do this." And I looked at it and I I said, "I might as well do it. I'll probably get some kind of like bonuses or something." And the first thing that popped up was like the David Beckham sweep stakes and I was like I'm totally doing that. So I just like put my information in and then kind of forgot about it.
Um and then um on my wife's birthday um a milestone birthday um I got an email saying like I'm a potential winner to the to the contest and like I thought oh it's probably like first round and they're going to like pick from there because they had all this information that they wanted to request.
So, I like instantly filled it out and then I instantly like filled out some more stuff. Then I got like a secure background check thing sent to me and I filled that out and then after I did everything really quickly, I thought to myself, I think this might be a scam.
And so for for a few days I was just uh kind of terrified that I just given like some random person like every single detail that you need to you know do identity theft or something like that.
>> Right. Um it was just so exciting.
>> Like I spoke to an actual like Verizon person and they're like you did it. It's legit. You won.
>> Wow. That is incredible. Do you know the amount of times that I've dropped my business card into one of those glass jars at a restaurant to win a free lunch?
Never. I have never won. I'm like, this is a this is a scam. This this is a scam. This doesn't work. How does this happen?
Oh my goodness. But this happened to you guys.
Mary, what was it like to be inside the stadium yesterday for a final that went into extra time?
All of these just incredible players there on the field.
everyone. I mean, listen, this the Spanish team was amazing. They put their heart out there. They played a phenomenal tournament, as did Argentina.
But Spain's been dominating this tournament even on like, you know, like the down low.
>> But I got to say, what was incredible about this experience was that Verizon hosted us. I don't know if they told you this, but they hosted us at the FIFA house where we got to take pictures with the World Cup trophy and which was incredible and mindblowing.
And then we got to an experience, a really intimate interview where a a famous like uh like commentator Roger, I forget his last name, so now I apologize. He was interviewing David Beckham and I mean he was asking all of the questions that we wanted to know about. They talked about the goal that Beckham got in 2001 against Grace and and like we we've watched that like all of the time we've watched this and they're talking about it in front of us.
>> It was just it was incredible.
>> I bet. Wow. Just to be able to witness that in person. My goodness. And also just how this will make anyone switch phone carriers. I mean, way to go
Verizon for sponsoring a raffle like this.
>> this and and and honestly, Stephanie, every single Verizon person that I met was a genuine person
>> that made us feel special and they were
