After 10 dark days trapped in a flooded cave in Laos, these four men stepped back into the light and breathed fresh air for the first time.
Uh, one man even found the strength for a little smile.
Two others broke down in joy and held each other so tight.
And this all happened fast on Saturday afternoon local time.
According to the Lao Rescue Group, divers went in to deliver food and water to those men.
Then they saw that the water level had fallen what they thought was low enough to attempt for them all to try and leave together.
And they did.
And this was less than a day after divers had brought out the first man in their group.
And these five men, they had all gone looking for gold.
But heavy rains kicked off flash floods that then kicked off deadly landslides and that is what sealed them all in. rescue divers.
Uh they risk their lives to find them, navigating cloudy, coffee colored waters through these tight tunnels that were the length of nearly three football fields.
And then at some points they were only about 1 and 1/2 ft wide.
And then they found them last Wednesday after 8 days.
They were weak.
They were hungry.
Crouched on rocks, but they were alive.
One of them said that they wouldn't have lasted though through this weekend if they hadn't been found.
But today they were.
And they found that light at the end of their tunnel.
And now everyone is hoping that two more men, the last of their group, will also be found.
They are believed to be even further in that flooded tunnel complex.
And rescuers are right now deciding what to do
