You need a pair of like rain boots or snow boots or something for inclement weather, right?
You need a pair of sneakers, something comfortable if you got to stand on your feet all day.
And then you need a pair of dress shoes for when people go, "You can't come in here with sneakers."
Well, what? How come? Why not? They're really nice.
They're like $500.
They're super nice.
They're brand new.
It's like, "Look, pal.
I don't know what
to tell you."
All right.
This is a very dark nightclub.
Okay,
>> I have a special um called the end of the beginning of the end on YouTube.
Sorry,
I got some news earlier.
A guy on my fantasy baseball team is uh on the DL for 15 day.
I don't think it's funny.
My name is David Cross.
Uh and I'm a stand-up comedian amongst other things, veterinarian.
uh horse whisper um big tickler like all kind I do a lot of stuff.
uh the last special before this one, the whole the end of it is about uh killing baby Jesus and what a great thing that would be and that is especially because I well I blew it now but I it's set up in a way that you don't think I'm it's going to be you know talk about going back in time and people think Hitler or Trump or and um and then when you you know I say that that gets a reaction and I know it's going to and I relish that I look forward to it and I look forward to doing things like that that I can continue the thought and get you to understand why that actually that thing that you were offended at that thing that made you gasp is actually maybe there's some logic to it.
Those kind of things I I I enjoy doing.
I have since I was starting.
A lot of comics are able to, you know, put some stuff on uh Tik Tok and Instagram and and then get work from that and then they're in some clubs and they're doing crowd work.
And I know some comedians who it it's the most triggering thing for them.
Like I I don't like it, but I don't get as angry as some some folks are like these, you know, they are just angry about the uh I
suppose shortcut >> aspect of it. Some comics just rise above everything.
There's some really great comics I've I have not heard of.
I've come to know from, you know, the Netflix shorts or whatever the the um different specials on like, "Oh, I got to check this lady out.
She's great."
you know, and the the vast majority are just boring to me and not it's just boring.
There's nothing special about boring. that special.
And you can sort of get a sense that they don't have the innate or intuitive qualities that one would get by going out on the road and performing in different places with different people of all walks of life and you know in a mall in suburban St. Louis or whatever.
But they they have audiences and they the there's people like they love that guy who does the thing and u we're going to go see him and he's cute.
super cute and uh all the folks from my PR can tell you pulling clips is very difficult from any of my specials cuz I don't you know getting a 25 second clip without context is really hard that that also you can air on TV or or network you know that's not saucy and again at this point I don't give a
Man, I'm, you know, this is I'm going to do it.
And if you want to come down, show up.
If not, whatever.
It's fine.
I, you know, I'm I'm I'm doing my thing.
The audience is happy.
Come down if you want.
I don't I don't give a But
as far as AI as we understand it now, I would imagine dance can't be replaced.
I would and I would imagine standup comedy. you you can't replicate that experience without a replicant.
H new Westworld idea.
Um so uh it's Westworld, but it's all standups.
So I don't I think that thing is safe,
but I say this with the caveat of who knows where the this is going.
It's clearly not going to be regulated. Uh I mean not with uh you know the current people in office in office that they won't regulate anything.
So it's that's kind of terrifying because we can I I
saw the um Tilly Norwood.
Maybe it's my age. I don't know. But
that was I had such a difficult time
