Iranian state media in the last couple minutes has been reporting that explosions are being heard in ports along the Straight of Hormuz less than a day after President Trump said this about the state of negotiations.
I don't think there are any sticking points.
>> Just hours later, a 24 foot long US Navy water drone helped rescue a pair of American pilots downed by an Iranian aerial drone. President Trump announced the Iranians shot down one of our highly sophisticated Apache helicopters while patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz.
There were two pilots involved. Both are safe and uninjured. Nevertheless, the United States must of necessity respond to this attack.
Iran's foreign minister is accusing the US of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Quote, "Foreign forces in proximity to our territory are at constant risk on account of their own human errors, plane accidents, or potentially being caught in the crossfire.
This crossfire comes dangerously close to a red line President Trump has drawn for restarting a fullscale war.
>> They kill US troops. I think I would do that very quickly."
On his way home from last night's NBA Finals game, President Trump again expressed optimism that a deal is imminent to open the Strait of Hormuz.
>> It'll open up immediately upon signing, which could be in 2 or 3 days.
>> Experts are encouraging the president to put Iran on the clock.
>> I think it would help us now to put a deadline on the table. Let's get a deadline on the table. Get them agree or not to agree. If they are that sincere about truly making a deal, let's make it.

You know, we're close to a deal. We're two days from a deal. We're three days from a deal and it's not happening.
