To help expand local food access, the market is highlighting several assistance initiatives:
Senior Nutrition Vouchers: The market will host the North Carolina Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program to register eligible older adults for $50 vouchers.
Administered locally by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Food Policy Council in partnership with the state’s Division of Aging, the program provides vouchers to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, mushrooms and honey.
SNAP Matching Boost: Because the anniversary falls on a "Triple on the Third" weekend, shoppers using SNAP benefits can receive an extra corporate-sponsored match of up to $50 on top of the county's standard "Double Bucks" match.
WIC Program: The market is participating in the state's WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program, offering matching dollars at the welcome tent for participants to spend on fresh produce.
Family activities at the event include children's crafts at the Radish Roots Corner tent alongside live music from local performers.
