It is the first time US aircraft have been downed in the conflict, and came just two days after Trump said in a national address that the US has 'beaten and completely decimated Iran' and was 'going to finish the job, and we’re going to finish it very fast.

Israel-linked ship targeted in the Gulf, Iran says
Iran's Revolutionary Guards said on Saturday they targeted an Israel-linked ship in the Gulf in a drone attack, setting it on fire.
On their Sepah News website, the Guards said they targeted a commercial vessel, the MSC Ishyka, 'owned by the Israeli regime and flying the flag of a third country' at the Khalifa Bin Salman port in Bahrain.
The Guards naval forces had earlier said in a post on X that the ship was attacked 'in the Strait of Hormuz'.
'A drone struck the vessel ... linked to the Zionist regime in the Strait of Hormuz; the ship caught fire,' they said.

An attack near the Bushehr nuclear power station in Iran killed one of the facility's guards but caused no damage, the official IRNA news agency said.

An attack on a petrochemical hub in the southwestern Iranian port city of Mahshahr wounded five people, the Fars news agency said.
Iranian media said a strike on a trade terminal in Khorramshahr, on the border with Iraq, killed one person.
The ISNA news agency said the fatality was an Iraqi driver, and two Iranian workers were wounded.
Another strike hit an Iranian cement factory in the southern port of Bandar Khamir, without causing casualties or disrupting operations, Tasnim news agency said.
Iran's science minister, Hossein Simai Sarraf, said that 'more than 30 universities' had been targeted since the war began.
Iran executed two men convicted of membership in a banned opposition group and carrying out actions aimed at overthrowing the Islamic Republic.
They were the latest in a series of executions targeting the banned People's Mujahedin of Iran (MEK).
Four other members were executed earlier in the week.

Iran used new air defence system to target US jet
Iran used a new air defence system on Friday to target a US fighter jet, Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya joint military command said on Saturday.
A spokesperson for the joint military command said the country would 'definitely achieve full control' over its airspace, according to Iranian state media.
UAE intercepts 23 missiles and 56 drones, defence ministry says
The United Arab Emirates' Ministry of Defence says it has intercepted 23 Iranian ballistic missiles and 56 drones on Saturday.

Search continues for missing US pilot
The search continues for a missing US service member, while another was rescued after two American warplanes went down in separate incidents.
One fighter jet was shot down in Iran, officials said.
A US crew member from that plane was rescued, but a second was missing, and a US military search-and-rescue operation was underway.
Separately, Iranian state media said a US A-10 attack aircraft crashed in the Persian Gulf after being struck by Iranian defence forces.
A US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said it was not clear if the aircraft crashed or was shot down.
