70-year-old charged with attempted murder for allegedly trying to drown man on crutches #shorts 87%

That's what police are calling it.
We don't know how this 70-year-old man who is accused is going to plead.
He hasn't yet been arraigned.
But in the video, you clearly see him slapping 21-year-old Matt Duffy and holding his head under.
He apparently held him down for 10 seconds before Matt Duffy's friends came to help him.

Now, what was going on here?
So, Matt Duffy was riding a jet ski with his friends.
Apparently, in this area, this small lake, it's only limited to people who live in Hopkin, Massachusetts.
And so, the alleged perpetrator, Steven Dana, was angry that they were riding their jet skis because they're not residents and he didn't like it.
That's according to an interview that Matt Duffy gave our Boston station.
Now, Matt Duffy here was on crutches.
He said his arms and legs were broken from a recent accident and so he couldn't actually help himself as he was being held underwater.
So, you can just imagine how terrifying those moments must have been.
So, there wasn't was an initial hearing this week.
Um, and we'll see how uh the alleged perpetrator please the alleged perpetrator's defense team says the charges are not relevant.
But this video has really taken over social media because it is so chilling and it's just a summertime dispute, probably the first of several high-profile disputes that will happen this summer.
As the summer months kick off, uh, you see crime rates do tend to increase.
Uh, assaults and the like tend to increase when the weather is warmer, people are out and about.
