It is time now for our last call. And this one's for the fashion forward.
It seems like AI is everywhere these days, right?
But what about your closet?
Here is a new app that will digitize your wardrobe and generate new outfits based on your style.
And I'm joined now by Jenny Wang, founder of the Alta app.
Jenny, thank you so much for coming in.
Thank you so much for having me.
Absolutely. Okay. So, I've seen a lot of apps that try and help you with your closet and it takes so long to upload the outfit.
It just it's a process, but this seems a whole lot easier.
Here, I've got the app pulled up. Tells you what the temperature is outside.
It just it's it's an assist as you're trying to get ready for the day.
So, how did you come up with this?
Alta was a personal problem.
I was always struggled so much every morning trying to get ready. my room would turn into a tornado.
And I just wanted something to help me decide what to wear.
And so that's where Alta helps.
You can give it any prompt, whether it's I'm going to work today or I'm going to church, I'm going to brunch with friends.
It will based on your closet, your calendar, and the weather, generate outfits for you.
And I use it every single morning.
You use it every single morning. And I mean, I guess it it it starts to know your routine, I would imagine, right?
Where you say, "I'm going here." And it kind of figures out your style based on your closet.
Yes. So, you can upload your closet, which is super easy.
If you take photos, the AI will recognize everything in your closet and then digitize and tag it for you so that it looks brand new like an e-commerce store.
It can also pull from receipts. So, you can just forward all of your online shopping receipts and add into your closet.
Once it's in your closet, it will generate outfits and then if you give Alta feedback, it learns your style over time.
Okay. And that is one feature that I really enjoy uh on the app where you you can take a photo.
Even now, if we took a photo here in the studio, you see the background here, but in the in the app, it will remove the background and make it seem as though the shirt's just, you know, laid out on its own.
Exactly.
Okay. So, do you have any tips for getting the most out of your outfits or or getting the most out of the app?
One of my favorite features is the trip planning feature.
So, anytime I go on a trip, I say I'm going to Nashville for Memorial Day weekend.
And I tell it if I'm carrying a carry-on suitcase or a check luggage and also what I'm doing on the trip.
Am I going to a barbecue? Am I going shopping?
And then it can generate the packing list and then I never have to think about it and I know exactly what I'm wearing every day of my trip.
So, that's one way. And a second way is to really make an avatar.
That is my favorite feature, which is uh you can upload a photo of your face, your body, your measurements, and see any outfit, what it looks like on you.
So you never even have to get out of bed.
It's really easy to use. Congrats, Jenny.
Thank you so much for bringing this to us.
And you you worked on this a couple years ago, right? 2023 you launched.
We we started the company then and we launched the app last year.
Last year you launched the app.
Fantastic. Congratulations, Jenny.
Thank you so much, Stephanie. Thank you for joining us.
