A California man was arrested this week in connection with his mother's killing, authorities said.
Angela Caprioli, 61, was found dead Monday at a home in Laguna Beach , according to the Laguna Beach Police Department.
The New York Post identified Caprioli and the suspect, Safford Wolfson, as mother and son.
Wolfson, 36, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of murder after investigators previously identified him as a person of interest in the case.

Police said officers responded to a home in the 1300 block of Dunning Drive shortly after 11 a.m. for a death investigation and found Caprioli deceased.
The circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation.
Neighbor Dustin Pettit said he witnessed Wolfson and Caprioli engaged in what appeared to be a heated argument at the home days before the alleged killing .

"I saw her outside talking with him and it seemed like a pretty hostile conversation," Pettit told The California Post.
"She turned around and went inside and slammed the door, like she was fed up with whatever was going on."
Pettit also told CBS Los Angeles that Wolfson had moved into the home about six months earlier.
"He was pretty mysterious.
He wasn't talking to us, you know, he would come outside, smoke a cigarette and play some guitar," he said.
"That's kinda the extent of the relationship we've had with him over the last six months or so."
According to the New York Post, social media accounts associated with Wolfson identify the account holder as transgender.
The outlet also reported that Wolfson wrote on Facebook in 2024: "Not even my mom wants to hang out with me man… talk about lame-o!"
