Isabella (née Szymanski) “Iza” Stralka passed away in her home on July 1, 2026.
She was the beloved wife of the late Honorable Paul Stralka; loving sister-in-law of Daniel (Carol) Stralka and Janette Strzalka; cherished aunt of Michael (Marianna) and Kathleen “KC” Stralka; proud great aunt to Freya Pauline Stralka; daughter of the late Michal and Lucyna Szymanski; fond cousin, friend, sister scout, and teacher to many.
Dedicated math teacher for more than 30 years at numerous Chicagoland schools, including Sacred Heart, the Latin School, Saint Benedict High School, and Truman College.
Received the Heart of the School award from the Archdiocese in 2002.
Fervent supporter of the Polish-American community, most notably through her involvement in the Polish scouts and active supporter of many groups and causes in Polonia.
Isabella enjoyed maintaining and decorating her home of 45 years in Lakeview, taking in movies and plays, various arts and crafts including sewing and needlepoint, traveling and doting on cats Kicia and Tiger.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Polish Museum of America.
