Harris County Precinct 1 detectives encountered a possible explosive device as they searched a house for child pornography in southeast Houston Thursday morning, Constable Alan Rosen said.
The device looked like a pipe bomb wrapped in foil and electric tape, with a wick at the end inside a home in the 500 block of Gilpin Street in the Edgebrook area, according to the constable.
A bomb squad confiscated the item from the scene, and authorities announced no injuries related to the incident.

Here's what information could be at risk
Two adults were detained at the scene, and charges for the bomb could potentially follow, Rosen said during a press briefing that KHOU filmed.
A Houston man was charged with three counts of child pornography — each a first-degree felony, according to Rosen's office.
Rosen said one person inside the home claimed to have made the device, and an occupant appeared on camera asking officers to leave when they entered the home.
Authorities left the house as quickly as possible after spotting the apparent device, Rosen said.
"When you have a situation where somebody that's occupying the house has situational awareness of our moving throughout the house and what looked like a bomb device, it kind of gave us a lot of trepidation," Rosen said during the briefing.
The Houston Police Department, Houston Fire Department and Harris County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene, according to the constable.
Rosen had previously urged the public to avoid the area, and investigators had not yet determined the nature of the device.
This is a developing story.
