Almost every year, Disney hosts an event called D23 where the House of Mouse reveals upcoming movies, TV shows, toys, and sometimes even video games.
This year’s event is set to take place next month, and for once, Kingdom Hearts fans have a reason to pay attention.
There will be a panel diving into the Square Enix and Disney crossover RPG series for its 25th anniversary.
Could new information about Kingdom Hearts IV come out of it?
According to Disney's announcement, a “Deep Dive into Kingdom Hearts” panel is scheduled for August 15 at 4:30 p.m.
Pacific Time, which will include some of the creative leads and voice actors behind the series:
> Join us for a journey through light and darkness as we commemorate 25 years of KINGDOM HEARTS.
Discover how this saga united Disney, Pixar, and Square Enix, with insights from the creative minds, character voices, and more behind the magic.
While several panels have lineups confirmed, with iconic Disney actors like The Little Mermaid‘s Jodi Benson and the voice of Mickey Mouse himself, Bret Iwan, the Kingdom Hearts panel doesn’t have any specific names attached to it.
So it’s unclear who from the series will be making an appearance.
It sounds like plenty of long-time Disney talent is going to be at the show, but the real question is who from Square Enix will be there, and will they have new Kingdom Hearts IV info to share or even a trailer to show?
Though we still don’t have a release window for KH4, it does seem like Square Enix is ready to bring the game back into the public eye after releasing a new trailer for the long-awaited sequel last month during Nintendo's Switch 2 summer Direct.
Hopefully it’s closer than we’re anticipating because it would be nice if the game didn’t get caught up in PlayStation's 2028 end of physical discs purge.
