New Movies Streaming
‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ (2026)
This legacyquel is surprisingly more about the death of print media than high fashion, but I’m not complaining.
Andy (Anne Hathaway) is first laid off from her investigative reporting job, then quickly reunited with Miranda (Meryl Streep) and Nigel (Stanley Tucci) at a Runway magazine ravaged by budget cuts, scandals, capricious executives (B.J.
Novak), and ill-fated pivots to video.
Despite the doom and gloom, the trio (plus Emily Blunt, in a new job) remain glamorous as ever, 20 years after “The Devil Wears Prada” first hit theaters.
How to watch: “The Devil Wears Prada 2” is streaming on Hulu.
‘The Drama’ (2026)
The best thing I can say about “The Drama,” the new dark comedy filmed in Boston starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, is that I can’t stop thinking about “The Drama.”
Director Kristoffer Borgli’s brief filmography is almost entirely dedicated to questioning social norms and lampooning the hypocrisy of cancel culture, most recently in the 2023 Nicolas Cage film “Dream Scenario.”
Here, his willing accomplices are two A-listers, playing an engaged couple whose impending nuptials are threatened when one of them reveals a dark secret.
Borgli has purpose-built “The Drama” to provoke, unnerve, and leave you wondering if you’re allowed to laugh at its audacity.
(It’s OK, I promise.)
How to watch: “The Drama” is streaming on HBO Max.
‘A Private Life’ (2025)
Jodie Foster is the lone American in this twisty French mystery, playing a psychiatrist facing plenty of her own problems.
Lilian has complicated relationships with her son and ex-husband, a former patient is suing her, and another one is dead, which Lilian suspects was foul play.
How to watch: “A Private Life” is streaming on Netflix.
More new movies streaming: “The Devil’s Mouth” (Prime Video); “Primate” (Prime Video); “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” (Peacock)
New TV Shows Streaming
‘Furious’ Season 1
Showrunner Elizabeth Meriwether has helmed a fascinating range of critically acclaimed female-led series, including “New Girl” and the Elizabeth Holmes biopic “The Dropout.”
Her newest follows a rookie FBI agent Alice Black (Emmy Rossum) who has been drawn into a game of cat and mouse with a serial killer (Lola Petticrew) whose motives and methods intrigue Alice.
Keep an eye out for Marblehead native Rob Delaney, who also had a fun role in Meriwether’s most recent show, the Emmy-nominated “Dying for Sex.”
How to watch: “Furious” Season 1 is streaming on Hulu.
‘President Curtis’ Season 1
Esteemed character actor Keith David (“The Thing”) gets his moment to shine in this “Rick & Morty” spinoff, playing the president first introduced on the Adult Swim back in Season 2.
President Curtis still has to fight unholy monsters and make the occasional trip to space, but by and large this animated series is much more grounded on this planet (and in this dimension) than its predecessor.
How to watch: “President Curtis” Season 1 is streaming on HBO Max.
More new TV shows streaming: “Adults” Special Episode (Hulu); “Batman: Caped Crusader” Season 2 (Prime Video); “The Bombing of Pan Am 103” (Netflix); Diarra From Detroit, Season 2 (Paramount+)
