Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami Saturday as British authorities sought their extradition on new charges of rape, sex trafficking, and “offenses relating to indecent images of a child,” the Crown Prosecution Service said Sunday.
Sibling social media influencers were taken into custody by the U.S.
Marshals on a sealed warrant that the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) revealed Sunday morning.
“We have decided to prosecute Andrew and Tristan Tate for further offenses including rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation and offenses relating to indecent images of a child,” Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the Special Crime Division at the Crown Prosecution Service, said in a statement.
“These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven.
The CPS has requested the extradition of the Tates from the US.
They have been arrested and await extradition proceedings to the UK."
In May 2025, the CPS charged Andrew and Tristan Tate with 11 and 10 counts respectively  including three each for rape  based on accusations from three victims in the U.K.
The additional charges stem from allegations from a fourth victim.
“The CPS has decided to prosecute Andrew Tate, 39, with seven further counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and 19 additional charges for offenses relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography,” the CPS said Sunday of the additional charges.
“The CPS has decided to prosecute Tristan Tate, 38, with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.”
In total, the brothers now face 59 charges combined.
“They’re pulling out all the stops to make sure these guys never get their day in court,” McBride said.
“We are confident that once a competent judge sees the facts, and once the Department of Justice confronts this egregious abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will walk free.
America does not do Britain’s political dirty work.”
The Tate brothers’ lawyer Joseph McBride denied the allegations in a statement to the Associated Press and accused the U.K. of “filth and slander” in response to a defamation lawsuit the brothers filed against the U.K. government.
The Tate brothers, who hold dual citizenship in the U.S. and U.K., were previously charged with sex trafficking in Romania and were also under criminal investigation in Florida.
In February, the brothers were authorized to leave Romania and return to the U.S.
Last July, a court ruled that the pair could leave Romania, but not the European Union.
In December, a judge said the case could not go to trial because of various legal and procedural irregularities tied to the prosecution.
This required investigators and prosecutors to bring forward new evidence to bolster their charges, or amend the indictment.
The investigation in Romania remains open.
