FLINT, Mich. — A local nonprofit is launching a new program aimed at helping entrepreneurs develop and refine their business ideas through feedback from experienced business owners and state experts.
The Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance Small Business Support Hub will host its first Business Validation Exchange on Thursday, Aug. 6, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Blackstone's Smokehouse, 531 S.
Saginaw St., in downtown Flint.
“The Business Validation Exchange is about creating space for entrepreneurs to test their ideas in a supportive, constructive environment,” said Karena Hamlet, program director of business services for the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance.
“By connecting emerging entrepreneurs with business owners who have already navigated the startup and growth process, we can help more people move forward through partnership.”
Designed for entrepreneurs who are starting a business or looking to validate an existing idea, the free event will connect participants with established local business owners who can offer practical insight and feedback.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions, share business concepts and build connections with experienced entrepreneurs from the Genesee County business community.
The event will also include a session led by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs on how to properly register and structure a business.
The session will provide guidance on business entities and state filing requirements for entrepreneurs preparing to formalize their operations.
