Could it be that Toy Story 5 has a “Blank Space” to fill on their cast list?
Taylor Swift fans are certainly hoping so.
Reports that the pop superstar will have a role in the forthcoming animated film are yet to be confirmed, but that isn’t stopping Swifties from speculating  and this weekend’s unveiling of new promotional billboards will no doubt fuel the rumours.
The billboards feature the giant letters “TS” and while admittedly it serves as an acronym both for Swift’s name and the film franchise, the Toy Story title has never been abbreviated as such.
Also worth nothing is the fact the letters are surrounded by 13 clouds, which is known to be Swift’s favourite number.
On Saturday (30 May), the official Instagram account for Pixar shared a video of cowgirl Jessie (voiced by Joan Cusack) dancing on the billboard.
“She’s making those moves up as she goes!”
they wrote in the caption, quoting a lyric from Swift’s 2014 hit song “Shake It Off”.
All signs seem to point to a Taylor Swift appearance in Toy Story 5  what form that appearance will take, however, is less clear.
The 14-time Grammy award-winning artist could be recording a new song for the film’s soundtrack, or be lending her voice to a new character  perhaps a showgirl in a nod to her 2025 album The Life of a Showgirl.
The Independent has contacted a representative of Swift for comment.
Set for theatrical release on 19 June, the new instalment of the Toy Story franchise follows young Bonnie who begins to ignore her old toys when she is gifted a digital Lilpad tablet.
Greta Lee, Alan Cumming, Conan O’Brien and musician Bad Bunny join the all-star cast, with Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Cusack each reprising their roles.
Earlier this week, the cast attended the London premiere for Toy Story 5.
The event marked Cusack’s first red carpet in 11 years.
The 63-year-old actor rose to fame in the Eighties, transitioning from a breakout cast member on Saturday Night Live to the Oscar-nominated star of Working Girl (1988) and In & Out (1997).
Cusack  who has voiced Jessie since 1999’s Toy Story 2  stepped away from Hollywood around 2015, moving to Chicago with her family, where she has been running a gift shop.
