On Saturday, Aug.
8, Atlanta City Councilmember Matt Westmoreland will host a community celebration honoring Kevin Randolph</strong> with a City of Atlanta proclamation recognizing his contributions to the culture, identity, and community spirit.
Kevin Randolph, also known by the community as “Beltline Kevin,” has become one of Atlanta’s most recognizable community ambassadors through his daily rollerblading, singing, and uplifting interactions along the Atlanta Beltline, according to a press release.
Since 2018, he has intentionally used his presence on the Beltline to bring people together, creating moments of joy, connection, and belonging for residents and visitors alike, Westmoreland said in the release.
“The Beltline was envisioned as a place that connects Atlanta’s neighborhoods, but it’s people like Kevin who truly bring that vision to life,” Westmoreland said.
“Whether he’s offering a word of encouragement, singing to brighten someone’s day, or simply making people feel welcome, Kevin embodies the spirit of community that defines Atlanta.
We’re honored to celebrate the joy and connection he has brought to our city.”
The celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rreal Tacos, 699 Ponce de Leon Ave., on the Beltline, where Westmoreland will present Randolph with the proclamation before family, friends, community leaders, and neighbors.
The event is free and open to the public.
