Barbra Streisand was tapped to honor stars including Robert Redford during the 98 Academy Awards’ In Memoriam segment, but Jane Fonda seems to feel she should’ve landed that role.
“I want to know how come Streisand was up there doing that for Redford?” she sportlingly asked Entertainment Tonight at an event held after the ceremony.
Redford died in September following a career that saw him home a pair of Oscars.
He was 89.
“She only made one movie with him, I made four,” Fonda joked.
“I have more to say.”
Streisand scored a Best Actress nomination for her performance alongside Redford in the 1973 Sydney Pollack film “The Way We Were.”
Fonda worked with him in 1966’s “The Chase,” 1967’s “Barefoot in the Park, 1979’s “The Electric Horseman” and 2017’s “Our Souls at Night.”
While Redford’s collaboration with Paul Newman in 1974’s “The Sting” earned him his first Academy Award nomination, it was his work behind the camera on 1981’s “Ordinary People” that resulted in a Best Director Oscar.
He was also given an honorary Academy Award in 2002.
“I was always in love with him,” Fonda admitted with a laugh.
She expressed gratitude for Redford’s contribution to independent movie making.
He helped launch what became the Sundance Film Festival in 1985.
Fonda  who has two Academy Awards for acting  also said Sunday that she missed the In Memoriam tribute to her friend Diane Keaton, who died in October at 79.
“Her passing really hit me hard,” the 88-year-old Upper East Side native confessed.
Fonda and Keaton worked together on 2018’s “Book Club” and its 2023 sequel “Book Club: The Next Chapter.”
Sunday night’s tribute also honored actors Terence Stamp, Sally Kirkland, Diane Ladd, Robert Duvall and Catherine O’Hara, among others.
