what about Ground News?
Ground News is great. I am a subscriber and a big fan.
I attempted an earlier version of the antiBSmachine several years ago, and I was frustrated by slow progress and some technical challenges of the project... one of the reasons I felt comfortable stopping my work on the project at that time was that I discovered Ground News.
My goal in doing this project is to open people's minds... to enable more critical thinking and more informed choices. If those goals can be fulfilled without me having to produce something, so much the better :) I felt like Ground News was fulfilling my goal. For awhile.
Ground News has a very well defined mission, and one of their greatest strength's is that they do exactly what they say they do. They attempt to identify bias in media, through two primary strategies:
*Identifying ownership of media organizations (and therefore the explicit and implicit biases of the ownership) *Identifying 'left' and 'right' leaning biases in the content.
Ground News is an excellent tool that provides a lot of value, and I appreciate what they do. At the same time, their analysis is not sufficient on its own. Ground News and antiBSmachine are complementary services, providing different types of analysis and insight. Both services belong in your toolkit.
