Mass confusion during National Mall evacuations
Event organizers have evacuated the
Salute to America Fourth of July event because of this severe weather heading our way here.
But what's happened next is just utter confusion.
There's folks, as you can see, just streaming out of the event in lines, confused, not entirely sure where to go.
They were first told to head here to the African-American Museum uh for shelter.
That ended up filling up and being closed.
So, as you can see, there's just folks standing around smiling, certainly trying to make the most of it.
But there's law enforcement here, National Guard, Metropolitan Police, Secret Service, all trying to get people to move out to a safe location ahead of the expected storms.
