Fans gather in NYC for Taylor Swift's wedding

We're so excited to be here. We came all the way from Little Rock, Arkansas just to celebrate Taylor's wedding and congratulate her on her big day.

I think it's our version of a royal wedding because she's so popular and her future husband's so popular.

>> It's just like it's so nice to see her so happy and like I feel like there's been so many years of like seeing her go through different boyfriends that maybe didn't treat her right.

And it's like just so nice to see her finally finding someone who's so good for her.

>> There you go. Some people feeling good about one of our top stories. New York has been waiting for Taylor Swift as the pop icon potentially gets ready to marry NFL star Travis Kelce tonight at Madison Square Garden.

Maybe you've heard. You are looking right now at basically a live shot.

This is footage from outside MSG.

We are seeing cars, black executive vehicles lined up bringing guests one by one to tonight's celebration.

But all of it is shrouded in secrecy.

But what can some of the experts, the Taylor Swift experts reveal to us right now?

Well, we have Carlos Greer with us.

He's a senior reporter at Page Six.

Carlos, I'm sure you've had a few scoops related to this story over the past few weeks and months.

So, share with our viewers, I guess, the big picture.

Why is this such a big deal culturally?

And why are not just Taylor Swift fans, but kind of, you know, your regular folks seeming to be obsessed with this?

>> Well, Errol, I mean, you heard it from the fans.

I was just at Madison Square Garden and that is the mood there.

People are excited for Taylor and for Travis.

And I think the reason is because, you know, whether or not you get it, Taylor is one of the, if not the biggest pop star of her generation.

And we've watched her grow from a folksy young recording artist to this, you know, bonafide global pop star who is not only, you know, celebrated within the music world, but also as a savvy businesswoman.

And, you know, we've watched her go through these ups and downs with her relationships. The reason people connect with her music is because she is so vulnerable uh talking about her relationships.

And so, now is the final moment.

This is the final chapter or hopefully it's the final chapter for Taylor Swift and her love life.

>> I'm glad you mentioned the business aspect of her career because it has been intertwined with her personal life and relationships.

She has written songs about successful and failed relationships.

She's brought it into the public and having a wedding at MSG.

perhaps personifies that.

Do you know anything new from today about what's happening or about what may be revealed?

>> You know, I I wouldn't be surprised.

I mean, there are uh film film releases at Madison Square Garden.

So, it does appear that this is going to be recorded.

whether it's for a documentary, an album, a music video, we don't know.

But what I can tell you is that, you know, last night was the rehearsal dinner.

It was an intimate dinner and we got some exclusive details from last night.

Uh it was very sentimental.

Uh her favorite restaurant in New York City, uh Sartanos, catered the event.

And you know, a lot of people were shocked that they were having their wedding at Madison Square Garden.

But Errol, it actually makes sense because if you think about it, some of Taylor's biggest moments happened at Madison Square Garden.

Garden. She celebrated her 30th birthday there.

And New York is a very special place for her.

Some of her most vulnerable onstage moments happened here in New York City.

In fact, I remember interviewing her backstage back in 2009 at the VMAs when that unfortunate incident happened with Kanye and that was the beginning of seeing Taylor Swift as a New York pop star.

So, Nashville sources did tell Page Six that they are legally married.

uh they apparently had a smaller ceremony and so that's what we're hearing.

Uh so tonight it appears that this may just be a huge celebration although there is supposed to be some sort of ceremony happening at Madison Square Garden in a few minutes

at 5:30 on the main floor.

That's when the celebration begins and they're going to be there until the Wii hours.

This party is supposed to go until 2:30 a.m.

>> Okay, so there's a scoop for you. Likely already married.

>> You know, I I I I can't I can't predict.

I really can't. But I wouldn't be surprised if we see some kind of special.

I mean, they're going out all out.

This is going to cost millions of dollars renting out Madison Square Garden.

Garden. And so, I wouldn't be surprised if she uh has a surprise for her fans.

We know she's very connected to them.
