Charlie Kirk's alleged killer appears in court

This morning, heightened security and emotions for day two of the preliminary hearing for Charlie Kirk's accused killer, Tyler Robinson.

Long guns visible on the roof, while inside, Kirk's widow, Erica, sat in the front row with his parents and Donald Trump Jr.

All in the same room with the accused killer for the first time.

>> Mr. Robinson, good morning.

Now, for the record, the court also recognizes the presence of Ms. Erica Kirk.

Ms. Kirk, good morning.

>> Kirk's family emotional during hours of testimony, twice leaving the courtroom as witnesses described the moment he was gunned down while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University last September.

>> A lot of people were screaming, standing up, and starting to run in all different directions away from the center of the tent.

>> Prosecutors laying out their case against Robinson for killing the conservative activist.

>> It's a graphic video.

Um Mr. Phillips was positioned towards the front of the crowd.

And it does depict the the moment that Mr. Kirk is shot.

>> Some videos so disturbing, the judge visibly flinched as he watched the moment Kirk was assassinated.

The audio heard throughout the courtroom.

Supporters of the Kirk family moved to tears.

>> Now, later in the week, prosecutors will play a recorded video from Robinson's former romantic partner, the one authorities say he confessed to.
