All the advancements that that have been made in this country for the betterment of American lives and for people around the world, we just take it all for granted.

But you never did.

Especially after um you were in Forrest Gump and the Lieutenant Dan Band and your your alliance with the US military,

that has been that has been a driving force for you for decades now.

Why does that matter so much on our 250th?

>> Well, I know where my freedom comes from.

You know, it has to be fought for.

It has to be protected.

Uh after September 11, 2001, when our country was attacked, I was scared, quite frankly.

I was feel fearful.

The chapter in my book, Grateful American, about that is called Turning Point and it was a real

turning point for me toward a very active service life to make sure that

the men and women who protect our cities and defend our country know that they're appreciated.

There are grateful Americans out there that want to celebrate them and do something positive

for them and I've been blessed that I could start a foundation and raise a lot of money.
