In a statement, he said what comes next needs to come from the people of Maine. We believe that for the movement to continue, it can't be me. For that reason, we are suspending campaign operations. Our senior White House correspondent Selina Wang joins us now. Selina, it feels like this has been several days in the making. Of course, there was that bombshell allegation

against Platner of rape, allegations that he denies. Do we have a sense what finally made him decide that this was really the the only course of of action left? >> Yeah, Lindsey. Um earlier in the video, he also said that he learned about this through press inquiries with no time to truly respond, no time for investigations before a quote corporate media system and the political establishment got to act as judge, jury, and execution executioner.
