The Secret Service says an agent on Vice President J. D. Vance's detail is facing an internal investigation and even a potential criminal probe over accusations this unnamed agent leaked information about the vice president's travel, compromising his security.
A Secret Service spokesperson telling ABC News that quote, "Any conduct that potentially threatens the safety of a protectee will not be tolerated."
According to a source, this all ties back to a report by MS Now, which ABC News has not independently verified, reporting that some agents were growing frustrated by what they thought were last minute, hastily planned, and in some instances inappropriate travel by VP Vance and his family.
The examples in the report include a reported planned flight on a military helicopter to bring the vice president and his son to a golf lesson, which was ultimately cancelled due to bad weather, and repeated flights to an area in rural Virginia where the Vances were reportedly going house hunting.
We've not heard back from the vice president's office this morning after a request for comment.
