41-year-old man drowns in Seaside after being swept into surf 2%

A 41-year-old man was swept into the surf and drowned in Seaside on July 29, according to Seaside Fire and Rescue.
Emergency responders received a call at 7:27 p.m., and the Seaside Police Department arrived to see two people signaling for help in the surf.
"A short time later, rescuers pulled a 41-year-old man from the water.
He was transported to Providence Seaside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead," Seaside Fire and Rescue said.
Officials did not identify the 41-year-old man.
No information was released about the second person.
Two fire department responders were treated and released for injuries sustained during the rescue.
Agencies involved in the rescue included Seaside Fire and Rescue, Cannon Beach Fire & Rescue, the U.S.
Coast Guard, Medix and the Seaside Police Department.
Seaside officials remind the public that ocean waters can present serious dangers, including hypothermia and rip currents.
