Katie Porter’s Raging Karen Yelp Meltdowns Are Exactly What You’d Expect: ‘Horrible Experience’ - RedState

While most of California’s top Democrats were busy handing out polite five-star Yelp reviews to local businesses over the years, Katie Porter was doing what she does best: lecturing and unloading on people.

Totally on brand here for Cali Karen.

The California Post revealed that the former Democrat congresswoman and gubernatorial candidate left behind a string of lengthy, blistering reviews that ripped into a local massage parlor, a pizza shop, and a taxi company.

Dramatic complaints about poor service, management problems, and missed flights abound.

“If you want consistent good service, and want to patronize a place that treats employees with respect, I would never recommend this,” she wrote of Massage Heights, a parlor in Sherman Oaks. “I cannot continue in good conscience to be a patron, even though it is a very convenient location and a nice facility.”

It ... it was a 500-word missive about the place and their poor service.

When the business fired back by accusing her of slander, Porter continued the feud, writing: “Btw, after I posted this, Bill called up and left me a message saying that I had slandered his business and tauntingly asking ‘What are you, a lawyer?’”

“Yes, in fact, I am — one that did not get a massage she paid for.”

That is spicy Katie Porter at her best right there, folks.

Dem Congressional Candidate Rage Quits Interview When Asked About Her Indictment

It's hard to believe some of these are real, but here we are. Tony Pepperoni Pizzeria and Irvine Yellow Cab were also in the path of the Democrat rage monster.

“Horrible service on delivery. I ordered at 4:39. I am told 35-40 min. I call to check at 40 min. Driver on way. I call again at 5:31—52 minutes later," Porter wrote of Tony and his pizza place. "He says driver will call me. He doesn’t. I have 20 angry hungry kids! Pizza was decent when it arrived. But allow ample ample time.”

Gotta love how she called the exact minute the expected delivery range ended.

Of the cab company, she wrote:

“I had a horrible experience with this company. I called the night before to book the cab for 6am. At 6:03, no cab so I called to check–“5 minutes away.

“Called again at 6:11–put on hold and disconnected. 6:15, told that original driver had never responded to call do they’d try someone else. It would be 5 minutes.

“6:28: Re-installed 3 kids car seats, loaded luggage in my car, and drive frantically to SNA. I was parked and trying up lug my 3 preschoolers and our stuff through parking lot for 7:15 flight when–at 6:35–driver says he is a few blocks from my house. Ludicrous! I would have missed my flight but for it being delayed. I will never use this company again.”

I don't know about you, but I love every second of reading these reviews. Porter is exactly the type of person comedian Sebastian Maniscalco described in his comedy special "Is It Me?"

If you haven't seen it, check it out. In one segment , Maniscalco blasts people's obsession with living online and writing lengthy, hyper-critical reviews of restaurants.

He jokes about how he handles a bad meal with his wife: "I'll tell her right there: 'Salmon sucked, let's get the f*** outta here.' That's it! We don't run home and tattle-tale on the restaurant. Who's got this time to write an 18-page essay on asparagus?"

Porter, of course, has built a well-earned reputation for unhinged outbursts, most famously captured in leaked videos of her screaming at a staffer to “get out of my f***ing shot” and berating a reporter during an interview.

Her short fuse has become a recurring theme. Former colleagues and even some Democrats privately describe her as notoriously difficult to work for and prone to explosive tantrums over minor issues.

Other than that, she seems like she'd be fun at parties.

In contrast to Porter’s tirades, most of California’s top Democrats kept things pleasant and positive. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom, and other prominent figures stuck to simple five-star ratings for restaurants, salons, dental offices, and cleaning services.

Although Sen. Alex Padilla (D) did leave a scathing review for a hairstylist named "JESSICA" (yes, in all-caps) because she had a "very bad attitude" when doing his son's hair.

Another tattling Karen. Padilla was serving as California’s 32nd secretary of state when he wrote the review. Sounds like some of these politicians are trying to intimidate businesses into providing perks.

When contacted by the California Post, Porter had little to offer in defense of her behavior, saying, "The Yelp reviews are what they are.”

And Katie Porter is who she is.
