Born in Manhattan, Jerry was a graduate of Mepham High School, Dartmouth College and Northwestern University.
He built a distinguished career at the Chicago Board of Trade, where he was known for his warmth, professionalism, and integrity.
He was also an active member of the Union League Club of Chicago.
Jerry was a founder of the CBOT Endangered Species Fund, which has awarded millions of dollars to conservation projects worldwide.
He has also supported the Chicago Zoological Society, the Anti Cruelty Society of Chicago, the Durrell Conservation Trust and the Union League Boys & Girls Clubs.
His commitment to protecting threatened species and strengthening community institutions was a defining part of his life.
Jerry and his wife of more than 50 years, Sandy Manne (née Pasbjerg), shared a love of travel, especially to Hawaii and Australia.
Jerry is survived by Sandy, as well as his brother, Lee Manne, Lee's wife Leslie Manne and extended family and friends who were touched by Jerry's kindness.
He was preceded in death by his father Julius Manne and mother Ruth Manne (née Kraus).
