Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen announced Tuesday that his office arrested a man in connection with an assault along White Oak Bayou Monday.
A 19-year-old man is in custody, and Rosen said charges are pending.
A woman was walking along the bayou in the 7000 block of Bent Branch Drive around 6:30 p.m. when the man allegedly attacked her and attempted to drown her in the bayou, Rosen said in a news conference streamed by KHOU.

The woman, he said, fought back and was able to escape to her vehicle, where she flagged down a patrol unit.
Rosen said deputies have been in the White Oak Bayou area addressing an increase in motorcycle and ebike activity.
“We were able to locate him and he fled (on his bicycle) from us,” Rosen said.
“He put up resistance and we had to taze him and we got him into custody.”
Rosen said before he was located, another woman reported the man whistled at her as she walked along the bayou.
Charges pending against the man include evading and resisting arrest.
However, Rosen said additional charges could be filed following the investigation.
“We will present the case to the (Harris County District Attorney's Office) and charge him with the most appropriate charge,” Rosen said.
“The most important thing is that this person is off the streets.”
Rosen said anyone walking along paths should be alert, walk with someone if possible, and keep one earbud out so you can hear.
“Keep your head on a swivel,” Rosen said.
