A U.S.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent shot and killed a man Tuesday in Houston , sparking an investigation by the agency and the FBI into what happened in Magnolia Park.
It isn't the first time an ICE agent has shot and killed someone since President Donald Trump took office for his second term in January 2025, with immigration enforcement as a major part of his platform.

Here's a list of fatal shootings involving an ICE officer since the start of 2025:
March 15, 2025 in South Padre Island
Ruben Ray Martinez was driving a blue Ford when officers told him to stop on March 15, 2025, according to a two-page ICE incident report.
Agents surrounded the vehicle and ordered Martinez and the passenger out of the car.

Instead, officials say he accelerated forward and an agent ended up on top of the car, according to the report.
Then a Homeland Security Investigations supervisory special agent fired multiple shots into the car, according to the report.

Martinez was 23.
Details of the shooting weren't made public until February 2026.
Sept. 12, 2025 in Franklin Park, Illinois
An ICE agent shot and killed Silverio Villegas González, who was from Mexico, after he allegedly attempted to evade arrest .
Federal officials say they were attempting to arrest Villegas González but he refused and drove his car at the agents.
An agent who was hit and then dragged opened fire, according to officials.
Department of Homeland Security said an agent was seriously hurt in the incident but police body cam footage disputed that, with an agent saying his injuries were "nothing major," according to the Associated Press.
Villegas González had cocaine in his system at the time of his death, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Dec. 31, 2025 in Los Angeles
Brian Palacios, an off-duty ICE agent, shot and killed Keith Porter Jr. on New Year's Eve in Los Angeles.
Federal officials claim Palacios was acting in self-defense when he shot Porter, according to the LAist.
But some of Porter's friends "suggested" Porter fired his weapon in the air to celebrate the New Year, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The Los Angeles Police Department recently completed its investigation into the incident.
Jan. 7, 2026 in Minneapolis
ICE agent Jonathan Ross shot and killed Renee Good in Minneapolis on Jan.
7, 2026.
Agents approached a Honda Pilot driven by Good, according to videos taken by bystanders .
One agent attempted to open the door.
The car then starts to move forward as an agent standing in front of the car opens fire.

About two-and-a-half weeks after Good died, Alex Peretti also died in Minneapolis after being shot by a U.S.
Customs and Border Patrol officer.
Both shootings sparked widespread protests in Minneapolis.
An ICE agent shot and killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a Mexican citizen, in Magnolia Park on Tuesday.
The shooting occurred at around 6:50 a.m. when Araujo tried to evade arrest during a "targeted enforcement operation," according to ICE.
The agency claims Araujo tried to run an officer, and officer fired his weapon in self-defense.
Multiple local leaders have called for an investigation into the shooting.
