FLINT, Mich.  The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint has named Chris Wilson as its next chief executive officer, effective Aug. 
3, 2026. 
The organization's board of directors unanimously selected Wilson following a search conducted with assistance from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's CEO Search Team, according to a July 30 news release. 
Wilson, a Flint native and graduate of Flint Northern High School, was a three-sport athlete in football, basketball and track and field. 
He went on to play football at Northwood University, where he earned First-Team All-American honors and was later inducted into the university's Football Hall of Fame. 
After college, Wilson began his professional football career with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League, where he was a member of the team's 2006 Grey Cup championship squad. 
He later played five seasons in the NFL with Washington before returning to the CFL for two additional seasons. 
Following his football career, Wilson spent eight years in automotive management, including one year with Ford and seven years with General Motors. 
Wilson and his wife, Sharena, founded the CSW Faith Foundation, a nonprofit organization that partners with businesses and community organizations to support scholarship opportunities for students. 
The foundation also partners with the 475 Elite Young Bulls Youth Tackle Football Organization, a Flint-based youth football program founded in 2021. 
Wilson is also a licensed minister. 
According to the release, the CEO search was conducted over several months by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's CEO Search Team and a search committee made up of members of the organization's board of directors.
