As the elections approach — state primaries are Tuesday, Sept. 1 and the general midterms are Tuesday, Nov. 3 — WBUR is expanding political coverage to help you understand who and what is on the ballot this fall.
First up: The weekly Mass. Politics newsletter returns Monday, July 13 with Gin Dumcius at the helm, along with some other contributors you know well. Known for his expert reporting on state politics, Dumcius joined WBUR as senior reporter in June after years covering the statehouse at CommonWealth Beacon, the State House News Service and MassLive. He's also been an editor at the Dorchester Reporter and co-created MASSterlist, the morning politics tipsheet. WBUR's Mass. Politics newsletter will help you stay in-the-know as the midterms get into full-swing and the action heats up on Beacon Hill. We'll break down the (many) ballot questions you're likely to vote on and keep you caught up on the races here in Massachusetts. Sign up here .
Next: On Thursday, August 20 at 8 p.m. , WBUR will air the final Democratic Senate Primary Debate live on 90.9FM and simulcast on wbur.org. Presented in partnership with WCVB and The Boston Globe, the debate between U.S. Senator Edward Markey and U.S. Representative Seth Moulton will be moderated by WCVB's Ed Harding and will feature WBUR Morning Edition host Tiziana Dearing as a panelist, alongside WCVB political reporter Sharman Sacchetti and Boston Globe columnist Adrian Walker.
Events: WBUR CitySpace at The Lavine Broadcast Center will also host live conversations exploring some of the issues defining this political moment. On Wednesday, July 29 at 6:30 p.m ., New York Times White House reporter Maggie Haberman will sit down with Here & Now co-host Indira Lakshmanan to discuss her new book , "Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump." The event is sold out, but livestream tickets are available.
