James and Cuba area

America marks its 250th birthday this year, and Missourians in the Rolla area are celebrating along with fireworks displays, drone shows, music and even pony rides.

Most are family friendly and free to attend.

Here are the Rolla-area events:

Cuba Fireworks Show July 3 Hood Park Drive Show begins at dusk.

91st annual Rolla Lions Club Carnival July 1-4 Lions Club Park Rides, games and food all nights with a drone show at 11 p.m.

Rolla America’s 250 Celebration Concert July 4 Rolla High School The Rolla Choral Arts Society and the Rolla Town Band will perform at 3 p.m. at the Rolla High School Performing Arts Center.

Salem Fireworks in the Park July 4 Salem City Park Food and craft vendors and fireworks.

Steelville Freedom Fest July 4 Steelville City Park Food and craft booths open at 2 p.m.

Entertainment begins at 2 p.m. when Bob Kraus takes the stage followed by the Lone Pine Band and Borderline Band.

Fireworks blast off at 9:30 p.m.

Admission is $5 per vehicle or $1 per person on foot.

James Fourth of July Fireworks Show July 4 View from Tourist Information Center, Hutcheson Ford, First Assembly of God or First Church of God parking lots. Fireworks begin at 9:20 p.m. in the St.

James Middle School grounds, which are not open to the public.

Washington Star Spangled 4th Fireworks!

July 4 Washington Fairgrounds Beginning at 6 p.m., there will be a kids zone with games, temporary tattoos and more.

Entertainment from Center Stage and Widow Makers as well as food and craft vendors.

Fort Leonard Wood Independence Day Celebration July 3-4 Various locations Fort Leonard Wood will hold a golf tournament on July 3 at Piney Valley Golf Course.

A 5K run takes off at 9 a.m.

Car show at Gammon Field at 4 p.m.

Also, bounce houses, games, petting zoo and food and drink vendors plus performances by the Kansas City Disc Dogs and music from Jacob Smalley, Jimmy Charles and Niko Moon.

Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
