A man fatally shot in the head outside a Queens laundromat was working with his mother overnight when an argument erupted inside the facility and spilled into the street, the Daily News has learned.
Dominick Lowery, 31, was shot around 8:40 a.m. Saturday in front of Wash & Fold Super Laundry at the Conduit Plaza shopping strip near Springfield Blvd. and 144th Ave. in Laurelton  and later died at Jamaica Hospital, according to police.
A manager at the 24-hour facility, who refused to give his name, told The News that Lowery worked the night shift at the laundromat and was on duty when he was shot.
Lowery worked at the laundromat for about three years, the manager said.
Lowery’s mother worked the night shift at the laundromat with her son, and was there when he was shot, ABC7 reported.
A witness to the shooting told The News he saw the victim’s mother at the scene.
“I heard the gunshot and I thought I was imagining,” said a man who gave his name as Asim.
“I saw the victim’s mother crying and screaming and I was like, ‘heck is actually happening?’”
“It was scary, very scary and I was all teared up seeing the mother and the young man on the ground,” Asim said.
“I wanted to just go home because it hurt me so much.”
An employee at the laundromat told The News on Sunday she believed the mother was still at the hospital.
An argument is believed to have started inside the laundromat and then moved outside to the parking lot, where the altercation turned fatal, according to police.
“I heard a pop, I come to the front of the door and I see a guy in green camo running,” said Mohammad, an employee at a nearby Edible Arrangements shop.
I thought this was a safe area but it’s making me second guess,” he added.
So far there have been no arrests, police said Sunday.
Lowery lived in St. Albans, according to police.
